Make GHL Show YOU What Matters

Build a dashboard... that runs your studio.

Your dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in. Right now it probably shows you stuff you do not care about. Let us fix that so it shows you exactly what is happening in your boudoir business at a glance.

First, The Why

Why this is worth 30 minutes of your life.

✦ The Real Problem ✦

The default GHL dashboard is built for marketing agencies. It shows you stuff like "ad campaign ROI" and "form conversion rates" that mean nothing to a boudoir photographer trying to run a studio. You need a dashboard that answers the questions YOU actually ask every morning... how many new inquiries came in overnight, how many consults are on my calendar this week, how much money came in this month, who needs a follow-up RIGHT NOW.

Once you customize this once, you will check your dashboard every morning with your coffee, see your whole studio in 60 seconds, and know exactly what to focus on... no panic-scrolling through ten different sections.

The Anatomy

The 8 widgets every boudoir studio needs.

A widget is just a little box of info on your dashboard. Pick these eight and you will know your whole business at a glance.

✦ Widget 01

New Inquiries This Week

Counts every contact created in the last 7 days. Your "is my marketing working?" stat.

Why: Lets you spot a slow week IMMEDIATELY so you can act (post more, run an ad, send a campaign).
✦ Widget 02

Consults Booked This Week

Counts appointments on your consult calendar in the next 7 days.

Why: Tells you if your inquiry-to-consult conversion is working. Lots of inquiries but no consults = your follow-up is broken.
✦ Widget 03

Sessions This Week

Counts appointments on your session calendar coming up.

Why: Helps you plan your energy and prep time. Three sessions in one week = block off prep time on the calendar.
✦ Widget 04

Revenue This Month

Total $$$ collected this month from all payment links and invoices.

Why: The number that tells you if you can pay rent, breathe easy, or need to push for more bookings.
✦ Widget 05

Pipeline Snapshot

Shows how many cards are sitting in each pipeline stage right now.

Why: See where leads are getting STUCK. Lots in "Pre-Pay Sent" but no movement = you need to send a personal nudge.
✦ Widget 06

Today's Tasks

Pulls in your manual to-do list for the day.

Why: Replaces sticky notes and 4 different planner apps. One spot for "what do I need to do today."
✦ Widget 07

Upcoming Appointments

Lists the next 3-5 appointments across all your calendars.

Why: No more flipping between calendars. You see what is on your plate today, tomorrow, and the day after.
✦ Widget 08

Stuck Leads

Filtered list of leads with no activity in 3+ days who have not booked yet.

Why: The hottest money in your business is in your "almost booked" pile. This widget surfaces them so you act before they go cold.
Now The How

Build your dashboard step by step.

The whole thing takes about 30 minutes. Worth every second.

01

Open your Dashboard editor

From your main GHL screen, click Dashboard at the top of the left menu. Then click the three dots (or pencil/edit icon) at the top right and pick Customize or Edit Dashboard.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. Log in to GHL.
  2. Click Dashboard at the top of the left menu (it might also be called Home).
  3. At the top right of the dashboard, look for an Edit button, a three-dot menu, or a pencil icon.
  4. Click it and choose Customize Dashboard or Edit Dashboard.
  5. You are now in edit mode. Existing widgets will become draggable and you can add new ones.
02

Delete the widgets you do NOT need

The default dashboard is full of stuff like "Ad Spend ROI," "Click-Through Rate," and other agency-y widgets. Get rid of anything that does not apply to a boudoir studio.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. In edit mode, hover over each existing widget. You will see an X or trash icon appear in the corner.
  2. Click the X on any widget that says... Ad Performance, Cost Per Lead, ROI, Email Open Rate, Click Rate, Marketing Spend, Page Visits... or anything else that does not relate to running a service-based studio.
  3. Confirm delete on each one.
  4. You should end up with a mostly empty dashboard. That is FINE. We are about to fill it with the stuff that matters.
03

Add your 4 stat widgets across the top

The 4 stat widgets at the top of your dashboard are your "morning coffee" view. They show you the most important numbers at a glance.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. In edit mode, click + Add Widget at the top.
  2. Pick Contacts from the widget categories.
  3. Pick Contact Count or New Contacts. Set the date range to Last 7 Days. Title it "New Inquiries This Week." Save.
  4. Click + Add Widget again. Pick Calendar / Appointments. Pick your Consult Calendar. Set range to Next 7 Days. Title it "Consults Booked This Week." Save.
  5. Click + Add Widget. Pick Calendar / Appointments. Pick your Session Calendar. Set range to Next 7 Days. Title it "Sessions This Week." Save.
  6. Click + Add Widget. Pick Payments / Revenue. Set date range to This Month. Title it "Revenue This Month." Save.
  7. Drag all 4 stat widgets to the top row. Resize them so they sit side-by-side, all the same width.
04

Add your Pipeline Snapshot widget

This is the one that shows you how many cards are in each pipeline stage. Critical for knowing where your business is RIGHT NOW.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. Click + Add Widget.
  2. Pick Opportunities / Pipeline.
  3. Pick the widget type called Pipeline Funnel or Pipeline Stages.
  4. Pick your Boudoir Clients pipeline.
  5. Title it "Pipeline Snapshot."
  6. Save.
  7. Drag this widget to take up about 2/3 of the next row width. It needs space because it has multiple columns.
05

Add your Tasks widget

Replaces sticky notes and your planner app. One spot for "what do I need to do today."

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. Click + Add Widget.
  2. Pick Tasks.
  3. Filter to Due Today or Due This Week.
  4. Title it "Today's Tasks."
  5. Save and drag it next to the Pipeline Snapshot in that same row.
06

Add Upcoming Appointments

Shows your next several appointments across all calendars in one list. No more flipping between calendars.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. Click + Add Widget.
  2. Pick Calendar / Appointments → Upcoming Appointments.
  3. Set it to show All Calendars.
  4. Set the limit to show the next 5 appointments.
  5. Title it "Upcoming Appointments."
  6. Save and drag to the next row.
07

Add Stuck Leads (the secret weapon)

This is the widget that finds you money. It shows you contacts who inquired but have not been responsive in 3+ days... aka the women who need a personal nudge.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. FIRST... go to Contacts and create a Smart List with these filters... Tag = "new-inquiry", No appointment booked, Last activity > 3 days ago. Save it as "Stuck Leads."
  2. Now go back to your Dashboard edit mode.
  3. Click + Add Widget.
  4. Pick Smart List or Contact List.
  5. Pick the Stuck Leads smart list you just created.
  6. Title it "Stuck Leads."
  7. Save and drag next to Upcoming Appointments.

If your version of GHL does not let you add Smart Lists as a widget, just create the smart list and bookmark it... check it daily.

08

Save your dashboard layout

Make sure your changes stick.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. At the top right of the dashboard, click Save Layout or Done Editing.
  2. Refresh the page to confirm your widgets are still there.
  3. Bookmark this dashboard URL so you can land here every time you log in.
09

Set this as your default landing page

So every time you log in, you land directly on YOUR custom dashboard instead of the default one.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. Go to Settings → My Profile.
  2. Find the field labeled Default Landing Page or Login Redirect.
  3. Set it to Dashboard.
  4. Save.
  5. Log out and log back in to confirm you land on your custom dashboard.

Pro Moves

Once you have the basics... level up.

Three more dashboard upgrades that take your studio from "running" to "purring."

Build a SEPARATE dashboard for each campaign

If you run special promotions like Healthcare Worker Appreciation or Birthday Giveaways, build a dashboard JUST for that campaign so you can track its performance separately.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. In Dashboards, click + Create Dashboard.
  2. Name it "Healthcare Promo" or whatever your campaign is.
  3. Add widgets that filter to the tag for that campaign (like "healthcare-promo").
  4. Now you can switch between dashboards using the dropdown at the top.

Add a Conversations widget

Shows you unread messages right on your dashboard so you never miss a reply.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. In dashboard edit mode, click + Add Widget.
  2. Pick Conversations.
  3. Filter to Unread Only.
  4. Title it "Unread Messages."
  5. Save and place it somewhere visible.

Use the mobile app dashboard too

The LeadConnector mobile app has its own dashboard view. It will show many of the same widgets... so you can check your studio from the school pickup line.

✦ How To Actually Do It ✦
  1. Open the LeadConnector app on your phone.
  2. Tap the Dashboard tab at the bottom.
  3. Tap the gear icon to customize what shows.
  4. Toggle ON the same widget categories you use on desktop.
  5. Save.
